Fish. You may bring your child as long as he does not shoot and does not mind sitting in a pit with you and one other person. These pits are made of plywood and are 4 feet wide, 4 feet high and 8 feet long. 2 guys to a pit and each has there own lid or hole to shoot out of.

July 18, 2006 at 3:25 pm #18675Hi Tim,
Heidi and I would love to come down for the IDA goose hunt get together…just need to know the dates so we can make sure we are free. Have a trip to Devils Lake and a trip to Western MN planned.
We had a great time last year even though the honkers didn’t cooperate very well. We may be contacting you about setting up a seperate trip too….how soon should we set that up with you??
Thanks

July 19, 2006 at 12:32 pm #18717I will have a date soon and get a accurate head count. We will do all the retrieving and we have the dogs. It is a very controlled environment and if your dog is not used to hearing 14 guns going off at once, things can get hecktic. We train our dogs for pit hunting and multiple guns going off. Trevor is a good dog!!

July 20, 2006 at 2:16 am #18750Depending on the final date of the event, I would be willing to offer a place to stay for some weary fowl travelers. I have two extra bedrooms and a fold out couch. I would imagine that one of the beds will be spoken for by Lars_MSU, but he apparently hasn’t seen this thread yet to confirm the reservation.
