Nice report, too bad about the truck, I would get a second opinion in Rochester though. Just a suggestion .
I see your ruining your dinner with that Missourri Swill, you should really try some better brands available in WI and MN.

March 27, 2006 at 7:13 pm #16433Great report Jake!
I’d like to hear about the band. I grew up in North Central ND and have hunted the SOB’s all my life and have never seen a band. Like to know where it was banded, when, etc. Please post or send a pm.Gotta love those high birds that clean themselves upon landing!

That’s interesting …..This was the second year in a row that someone in our group has gotten a band (last year my buddy got a yellow neck collar)…..I don’t have any info yet, but I’ll post up when I get it from the USGS.

March 29, 2006 at 5:29 am #16490two years ago when my dad and i were in nd, he shot a banded mallard. it was banded in northern-south dakota, and just once month after it was banded, he shot it in northern-north dakota. so it flew north a whole state, just to fly back down a month later ne body else think this is strange

April 22, 2006 at 11:34 pm #17238Got the band info on my goose…….Banded as an adult in Churchill Manitoba on 7/31/1996…..Hatched in 1994 or earlier!!!
That makes him at least 12 years old!!! That’s an old freakin goose…..pretty cool, as the actual band didn’t really look that old/worn out.

April 25, 2006 at 4:50 pm #17269I got some info back on some bands we shot…..we shot 3 bands one day and all were banded in Nunavut……the oldest was hatched in ’98 or earlier…….two of them were ross, the other a blue. They also were all banded by the same person, kind of interesting.

May 16, 2006 at 3:10 am #17639It is…in my 25 years of hunting sob’s have never shot or had anyone in my party shoot a banded snow or blue. Let us know what the USGF says about the tag.
We often shoot mallards that had been banded the same year and often with 15 miles of where we were hunting.

May 18, 2006 at 9:05 pm #17666Great report Jake. It’s good to see you were able to thin out the sky rats.
How do you like to prepare your snows?
