Over winter break, me and a few buddies took a ride down to Arkansas to visit some freinds down there. None of us have ever hunted AR, and the guys we were staying with never really waterfowl hunt, so it was gonna be a big learning experince……no connections accept for a floor to sleep on.
Driving thru AR ozarks….i thought the whole state was flooded timber and rice feilds..lol

Hunted the river the first evening we were there….got some mounter canvasbacks along with some ringnecks.

Hunting flooded timber for a 1st time was gnarly to say the least. Pick a random public area to hunt the night before, arrive in the AM under pure darkness, launch the boat in the timber, and aimlesly drive around until we find an opening to set up shop….its different navigating thru this stuff in the dark tho!

All in all it was an AWESOME trip. We managed a little over 50 ducks in the 5 days of huntin, 10 or 11 species too……..and it was 100% wing’n it….the way i like .
Oh ya….we partied only a MINOR amount………..(cans and cans)
