wanted to get out one last time in the Stillwater area for geese this weekend. Are there any still around. I have a place close to the St. Croix with a cut corn feild. They should be using the river with everything else frozen. Just don’t know if they are gone or not. thanks for the help.

I have been scouting the sippi and there are still a fair number of birds around. Seems like they are in pockets and using specific fields. None of them seem to be flying any great distance to get to food. All have been holding near the areas they are currently feeding.

    Hope this helps

I live very close to the Sippi in Otsego and there are a TON of birds around but the problem is they are only flying about 200 yards from the river to the fields and sorry to say they are still in the city limits …But the field that I drove by last night there were a few thousand birds in, the entire field was black with geese.

    Bob,
Is this the field on the left just before the bridge heading into ER?

I drove by that field Monday morning and it was full. I drove down hwy 10 through Ramsey and Elk River and the geese were in every field. I hunted one of these fields last year and we were all done in no time. It is about impossible to get permission, but good luck. If I had more time this year, I would have begged a couple of the farmers in the area.

I’m seeing the same in Hudson. Birds are around but are landing very close to the river, often in unhuntable areas near town.

I am a bit slow. That is one of the fields that I see them in all of the time, there are also a few more a little closer to my house too.
