Friday afternoon whe hit our field to the south of town and 3 of us took six canadas, one of which carried the finest of jewlery and a king kong greenhead. I was the first to arrive to the field and had a flock of about 50 mallards work and work me until they finally gave me a look close enough to scratch the greenie, one more gun would have helped me be more patient. We had only that bird and a loner honker until 10 mins. left in shooting time and we had a five pack come in feet down and notta one left the field alive, great numbers of birds flying south.

Hit the mighty miss. this mournin’ (sat) with a buddy and took 5 ducks and a loner honker. All of our birds were decoying 3 greenheads, a gaddie and a drake spoonie. My bud missed one chip shot and that was it, not as many birds flying around as expected and way more skybusting “waterfowlers”. If people would just let birds work everyine would get better shots and have a better hunt, it’s not a matter of how much powder is burned guys.

Nope, sorry, wrong location. Went out and helped a local guide service on sunday, they were booked and some of their normal guides were deer hunting, and we shot a dozen geese and saw no ducks, the day before they were seeing non-stop geese and quite a few ducks, but with the wind shift I can see why the birds were in a different flight pattern. Still plenty and I mean plenty of birds around, so if you got a field, goosin’ is the way to go!
