Good luck on the geese! Where the heck are they? I am not seeing the flocks like I used to! I think a lot of the shooting from Pool 2 has them off their normal flight patterns. I will have to wait for the late season, and see if the patterns go back to what I consider normal. For now, I will fish and deer hunt until I see more flights in my area.

Most of the big water has reopened. Not much around though. I would assume this will scatter whats left of the ducks and give the large flocks of geese more room to move. Will probably be a tough weekend in central MN.

They wouldn’t even come close to our deke’s this weekend. Nothing was landing any where near one another. We even saw geese land 50 yards away from another flock before swiming over. I assume this was to make sure they were real. Those damn things are smart birds.

November 22, 2005 at 7:27 pm #12465Has anyone been out towards the Windom area? I will be there through the long weekend and am wondering if the smaller pot holes have frozen.

I have been watching the weather closely though and think you are probably in good shape.
The smallest potholes may be shut, but the SW has been seeing some higher temps than the rest of the state.
Good luck!

But once again the end has come and it is time to begin thinking about next year. Had a great closing weekend on the sippi. Shot plenty of geese and a good number of greenheads. My favotite was the snow storm shoot. What a great morning!
Good luck to all!

I missed out because my wife was counting contractions, THREE WEEKS EARLY !
No go for now though.
I too want to thank everyone for their involvement in this post. It certainly added a new dimension to my hunting season .
After each hunt I was looking forward to getting back to the office so I could compare notes with the IDA gang.
Of course on those weekends when I could not get out, I was able to still feel connected thanks to those of you who posted.
I think this forum/post definitely improved the quality of my outings this year and certainly added to the enjoyment.
I look forward to hooking-up with some of you in the future. Hopefully we can share a boat or trade some information .
Thanks again folks !drakesdemiseResiding in St. Paul, MN doing weekly travel throughout the five state Upper MidwestPosts: 976November 28, 2005 at 2:26 pm #399499Good to here that you had a good weekend ChrisS.

I almost forgot, ChrisS and Eye-Guide, I did do some pool 2 investigation over the weekend .
I realized that something local would be my only chance to chase ducks .
Unfortunately, when I scouted on Saturday morning, the boat landings were froze in tight . This has likely changed now.
At least I will be a little more prepared for that discussion next season .drakesdemiseResiding in St. Paul, MN doing weekly travel throughout the five state Upper MidwestPosts: 976November 28, 2005 at 3:44 pm #399514Are you saying that I need to schedule a business trip in the near future ?

November 28, 2005 at 8:51 pm #12593$71.00 / 74000. If I round up thats $.01 per bird. Makes sence to me. Hope the wife will buy it.

November 28, 2005 at 9:06 pm #12595I believe the $6.00 stamp that you buy now is also good for the spring snow goose hunt.No other license needed for the snow’s.
