Central MN is filling up. There were 2-3k mallards on Pelican. The divers have started and we actually saw snows and cacklers on sat. Not many mind you. But there was a group of each.

Myt partner and I shot 8 mallard on Sat and 8 on sunday. I love this time of year!

Any predictions on how the weather is going to affect the flight? I am hoping we daon’t get all of the snow they are talking about. As it sit I think we could be primed to see more birds use minnesota than we have in many years. This weekend I saw snows Buffelhead. This tells me that birds that may not other wise use central MN are using us this year. If we don’t bet to much snow and the big water remains open. We could have a great closing 2 weeks.

    Thoughts?

I started seeing the first migrations of non-locals this past week. Mostly the smaller ducks like woodies etc…

I’m told a major migration of canadians has moved south into SD, so expect to seem more here very soon.

Some people don’t like to give out to much info matz. I am reading your location and I see you are from Oronoco, SE. MN which leads me to believe you probably hunt somewhere around that area. Now if you gave a report I would assume (we know what that does) that you are probably giving a report for that area. You want there spots, guns and shells too?

I agree with matz, give N, S, E or W. Otherwise, whats the point? I don’t think you will be giving away any spots, along with guns or shells. Give me a break.

Morning guys. Here’s my input for the day. Looks like some more birds moved in last night. Saw a small raft of divers on a local lake this am. # to 4 flocks of mallards coming in around dark last night. All flock were 20 or more birds.

This is all west metro to buffalo. And I shoot winchester shells, and a nova. Just so you know what your getting.

Hey guys, not withholding any specific info. The ducks I was referring to were in the metro area. They have since moved on, but I noticed this about a week ago.

As for the geese in SD, I always assume everyone knows the major portion of the canadian migration takes place along the Missouri river, my bad. I should know more next week. My buddies always take the week of Thanksgiving off for deer hunting and waterfowl chasing. Looks like they timed it perfectly this year.

Ripper, so if your in Southern MN and I give a report about Northern MN why does it matter to you??? Are all the birds I see going to come to the area your hunting or are you a die hard hunter and going to go to the birds?? If I am hunting the week or weekend I want to shoot birds, so I will go to the area where the birds are even if that means driving 5 hours…….Maybe you sit in the same spot all season waiting for the birds up north to come down south to your spot (which is fine as well, but it isn’t me)……That is why some people don’t give out every cent of information. Plus it is different everyday as waterfowl this time of the year are always on the move for the most part.

You are getting a dime and you want a dollar.

Chriss……keep the shells, b/c I reload my own, but I will take the Nova and your spot. ha ha ha
