Went to N.W. Missouri for the duck opener last weekend. What a blast! The guy’s and i shot 101 ducks from Saturday morning through Monday morning. Mostly Woody’s and Teal, but also some Widgeon and Gadwalls. We have a duck club near Squaw Creek Wildlife Refuge. There is 37000 ducks there right know and the geese are coming in waves : :There is a est 17000 Pintails down there right know, but they do not want to decoy vary well The colder it gets up here, the better hunting it is down there.I will try to get some pic’s soon, but if not check out http://www.topgunguideservice.com for the official kill number’s of ducks and geese. The Rochester area goose hunting is starting to pick up.Still alot of corn in the fields ,but it is coming out fast.

We are in the S.E. part of the refuge south of Mound City about 2-3 miles.I talked to alot of locals and not many people around had good luck. The area that we have has always been know as the “hot spot” around the refuge. However when the weather gets colder and the big mallards come down, the north end really gets going. We also have lay out fields on the N-N.W. side for goose hunting and field hunting ducks. We hunt flooded corn fields.
