well after a pretty poor weekend, i have come to the conclusion that all of my spots that i have found, are pretty much burnt out untill the new birds arrive. however, i did manage to scrape together a limit of mallys this morning, but i didnt even SEE hardly a dozen birds. i just happned to make some good shots on 2 singles and two pairs that did come into the dekes. the two singles were drakes and the two pairs were both a drake and a hen. 3 nice mature birds and one that looked like it was born yesterday

How much for a guided trip Fish? Do you supply everything or do I have to bring my own stuff?

You are single handedly making me hungry for duck!

I haven’t had a wild one in years. Just for a moment or two I thought I would get out this year around opener…but that didn’t happen.

Dang…if you ever get too many, I would drive down to Lake City to pick them up…un cleaned!

    GOOOODDD Eat’en!

Congratulations on the well earned ducks. Just one quick question – did you find any eggshells in the one mallard’s feathers.

It sure does help when you hit the ones that you shoot at – especially if you do not get many chances!

Good shooting Pep. I am still looking for the Northern Mallards to arrive in numbers down here by Goose Island. Every time I find a good spot, I end up get crowded out. I refuse to hunt with azzholes in my lap. I think I got a plan to keep them away this weekend though.

    Good shooting!

I was a little confused on your story as I thought you said you shot a hen….but no hens in the pic. I guess you shot the drake out of each pair. Thats pretty good eyes as that drake ain’t to good of color yet.

But….thats what alot of the young drakes will look like as they move out of canada due to an unusually good late hatch.
