Sunday morning I got out thinking that the ducks would be flying even better than the previous week. With the rain and the wind I was ready. Come first light though the sky was lacking the whistling of wings and the huge flocks pouring into the refuges. In the end the whole morning was a flop. Ended up with one green head, one green wing, and one small goose. The only highlight was my pup retrieving the goose. It was still flopping and twice the size of him so he was wrestling it in. Overall though there were very very few ducks in the air. Is this the lull between locals and Northerns or are the locals there but just wised up? By the way I was hunting brownsville, pool 8.
