ANOTHER GREAT WEEK OF HUNTING, MADE A NEW BLIND AND GOT SOME DUCKS IN. THE GEESE WERE FLYING PRETTY CLOSE.THE WATER LEVEL WAS UP 6FT, FROM LAST YEAR, BUT WE MANAGED TO GET SOME DUCKS, 1 TEAL 2 WOODY’S 2 KOOTS. THE POINT IS WHERE YOU WANNA BE. SOME OTHER HUNTERS WERE UPSET THAT WE GOT THEIR TWICE BEFORE THEM. OH WELL FIRST COME FIRST DIBBS!!MAYBE ANOTHER TRIP ON SUN. OR MON. MAYBE WE CAN GET THE OTHERS TO COME.LOTS OF PEOPLE OUT THERE. BUT GOOD HUNTERS THAT DON’T BLAST 90-100 YARDS UP.LIKE LAST 2 WEEKS AT RICE LAKE. I NEVER GOT SO PISSED OFF IN MY LIFE,JUST A RUMOUR I HEARD PETA IS OUT THERE MESSING THINGS UP. A CUSTOMER TOLD ME AT MY STORE.I THOUGHT WOW THOSE PEOPLE WANNA GET OTHER HUNTERS MAD, BY MESSING THEIR DAY UP..I HAVE A FRIEND WHO WILL CHECK INTO THIS…BUT IN ALL THE HUNT IS STILL ON, SO SEE YA GUYS OUT THERE.

A *rumor* is just that.. a rumor. I would have a hard time believing that Peta was at the duck slough.. if they were they would be motoring down the middle having a BBQ or something stupid so the ducks wouldnt come in.

Rice has been pretty good about the skybusters during the week other than the point on the north end(guys on foot)… not to mention.. much closer to home for me for a quick hunt.

I have been all over the greater metro area… no place is holding that many birds right now other than one secret spot…shhhhhhh

Now I know why we haven’t heard from ya, Ralph! You’ve been out in the duck blind

Glad to hear you guys got some shooting in this week after a rather dismal hunt on Sunday. It was a beautiful day to be out, but the birds just weren’t cooperating. Maybe this Sunday…

I had my wife out wed outside of Carlos and picked up 3 nice drake mallards. Could have had a couple more, but let the ladies go. Saw a few woodies around as well. Still waiting for bigger numbers to show up. There were quite a few gees flying at 9 when we were leaving.
