Although you might think it’s a little to early to find that early season mallard hole, I think I found my spot already!

I spotted this drake and hen on the peak of my neighbors house a few nights ago and I couldn’t believe it. I would estimate the peak of the house at least 40′ off the ground, had to take a picture so someone would believe me.

I believe you. When I was growing up we had a hen mallard nest in one of our willow trees a couple years in a row, there was a big branch that came out and Y’d creating a big flat spot it was probably 20-25ft off the ground. I was outside when she was calling her ducklings down….they’d bounce once and scamper away….it was neat to watch.

We have geese that sit on top of the lights on poles in our parking lot here at work…not sure why but they seem to like to hang out up there.

My house had a few Mallards on them many, many times. Nice pic.
