Nothing in the pool 7 area. My Dad’s been trapping and hasn’t seen a duck in Dresbach Island for over a week. The guys I talked to said it’s very poor. It’ll get good about 3 days after the season closes.

With the front that’s supposed to move through the area, there’ll be some new birds coming with it. But we’re also very close to that full moon migration, so it’s anybodys call as to whether they just blow on by or stop over for a few days. Very much depends on the weather this time of year. I hope for my boy’s sake they stop by for a few days. been a pretty rotten season in SE ia.

It’s gonna get too cold too fast I’m afraid. They will have to push in around Thanksgiving I think, as it looks like it’s going to get cold enough up north to push them out, but will it ice up here too fast?

I saw a few flocks of migrating DUCKS on saturday, which are the first I’ve seen since the end of October . Still, there is not any great hunting going on. The last day of the MN season is tomorrow and it doesn’t look like it will be anything better than the last month and a half .

If there are indeed still ducks in canada (and I’m a bit skeptical on that) they WILL be coming through over the next 5 or 6 days.

THANK GOD I BOUGHT THAT WISCONSIN LICENSE

Can’t wait to start breakin ice and whackin some GREEN

    FMP:

Any sign of a big mallard push? Just assumed (perhaps wrongly) the ducks you talked of rafting on Lake Pepin were divers.

Not that this is going to help you guys, but I’ve really noticed a big jump in Mallard numbers on Metro ponds the last week or 2.

I do wish all you guys a good ending to the season!

i seen a nice number of bills a few buffies and a pair of goldeneye sunday but didnt bring the diver dekes because i was hunting by my self. usually there are huge rafts of mallards on lake pepin as well as more numerous smaller rafts of divers. when the northers first get here the seem to like them rock points for somereason. my mom works in hager city and she sayd today that the sky was black with ducks near the air port. i told her to keep here eye open and gator hunter you should do the same. ill have them pics on here in a minute. jake, eat your heart out kid i got me a “purdy duck” and some “bling bling” in one outing.
