We NEED this weather!!!!

I don’t know what you guys are seeing for ducks, but the last week has been PATHETIC down here !!! It’s just been too nice. A lot of teal and woodies have moved out, and no new ducks have moved in.

So hopefully this weather that we are supposed to get starting tomorrow brings some reinforcements with it. Cause otherwise I might have to go pheasant hunting this weekend

I hear ya Jake. We were out a few days last week and on Sunday. I could almost count on one hand the numbers of ducks we seen. The few we did see were all woodies, but not many of them. This cold weather will be very nice. I wish it would hurry up and freeze the ground so I can spend everyday hunting or fishing . This weekend we are planning on hunting ducks in the morning, chasing pheasants during late morning/midday, and then going to hit the ducks again in the afternoon. It doesn’t get much better than that.

I think a whole bunch of new ducks will move in, and with this week closed, should be stacked by Saturday.

I was driving around this AM and I noticed several large groups of mallards heading South with the wind. I would imagine this should change the hunting in a lot of the state for the better

WOW!!! Was today some ducky weather or what…….cooler temps, overcast skies, a nice steady north wind, and just a bit of a drizzle……..unfortunatly (once again), the main attraction (the ducks) never made a showing . I guess ducky weather doesn’t help if there are no ducks around in the first place.

There were a few birds flyin around the marsh, but not very many. We ended up with 2 teal (a blue and a green winger), they were the only ducks we shot at. We did see a few smaller flocks heading south, but not any type of major migration. There are still a fair number of geese flying around (2 of which should have been dead, but that’s a whole nother story ).

So now on to tomorrow morning……The secret spot is calling…..hopefully it’ll work out
