matz03z: …..No new reg’s that I am aware of in Manitoba. I know the license fee went up $25 this year though. It’s still about $34 US to get your gun(s) into Canada with the triplicate forms at the border, but nothing new otherwise. Crossing the border is not bad at all. You are limited to 200 shells, but you can have more if you are willing to pay the import “tax.” Usually, if you are up front with your amo quantity – even if you bring in a case – the customs guy’s don’t/won’t care either.
One thing I learned over the years of going,…. become a member of DU if you arn’t already. Believe it or not,… I got access to a lot of private land that I know I would not have otherwise – because of my DU membership. I’ve actually had landowners specifically ask if I was a member – for permission to hunt! Now,… I even plan my trip to hit a local DU banquet and it really pays off for private land access. Until I hunted Manitoba, I really never saw much come from DU in terms of “real” return in Minnesota, but go there and you’ll see all the land DU owns and manages and you’ll definitely change your opinion. …..I’m a firm believer now – and a member of both the US and Canada DU.
Anyhow,…. I hope you guy’s have lots of fun and get an opportunity to shoot some birds.
