I’ve been spending a lot of time in the slough with my pup lab. He is 15 months old so this will be his first season.
He is doing awesome so far. I am so ready for the opener.

Wow! Your dog looks almost exactly like mine. Although I am not an avid duck hunter I have been training mine in water. She seems to have a nack for it. Once I found how easy she was to train blind retrieve I kept going. Hopefully I will take her with a friend this year just to retrieve but probably won’t hunt myself. I’m concentrating more on pheasants which due to distances involved I have a hard time getting training opportunities for that. Primarily I’m a grouse hunter and prefer hunting them without dog. I know that sounds crazy but it’s how I have been doing it very successfully my whole life. I’m sure I’ll get her out after those this year.

Ready as I am going to be. Dog is a retrieving fool, but still so young (6 months). Should be a good year.

Buckmaster that’s a great looking pup, I have an 8 year old GSP they are awesome dogs. They are very smart and very eager to please you. You are off to a good start with the retrieving, pointers are typically not good retrievers but if you start working with them at a young age they will do well and it will stay with them. Where did you get your pup from? If you ever get over to SE MN let me know it would be fun to work the dogs together.
