Just got back from south central ND and there are birds everywhere around our area. We hunted all day on thursday and friday and piled up 73 snows and blues, not bad considering the fog on friday was so thick you couldn’t see 50 yards for about 4 hours. We hunted over decoys the entire time and it was a good time to do it because for some reason we had nice small flocks (2-15) of birds work us instead of flocks 300 and higher. We did manage two decent tornados of 5,000+ birds which was nice for the newcomers to see. I think the birds had been there for a while and that is why the smaller flocks were more aboundant. Our field consisted of 700 rags 150 shells and three e-callers, to our surprise most shots were 30 yards when the shots were called, there were a few suicide bombers that were nice to see. There are still birds in MO if you can believe that, my buddy just got back from there and shot some, so there is a “second” migration coming through.
