What do you all use to clean the whitish scum or oxidation off of your outboard motors? It seems to build up fast. Not just the organic crud. The boat shops use muranic acid. There has got to be a more gentle way to go.

Vinegar. I do NOT mix with water and it comes off fine. Use it as if it was water–liberally.

If your getting the heavy white electrolysis build-up & its coming back quickly, its probably an electrical issue.
I was getting it really bad even on my trolling motor, mechanic found a wire that was hooked up wrong somewhere down the line, fixed it and have been electro free

Thank you all. I use diluted vinegar for water spots and wiping down my boat, but always diluted. Never tried it straight up. Will do though.
