I noticed water on the carpet in the basement near the last window (picture attached). I am wondering if this had to do with anything with all the rain we got last few days. There is a concrete slab (picture attached) right outside this and deck above it – wondering if this had anything to do with it. Any idea whats going on or who I should call? I am geting my gutters cleaned tomorrow which has gutter guards. Thank you!

Those pictures don’t tell a ton without seeing it in person (at least for me as someone who is NOT an expert).

Are there wet spots anywhere on the wall or is it all just the floor? Is there any plumbing in the wall immediately adjacent to the leak? Were you home during the heavy rains? If gutters are blocked or not functioning correctly it should be pretty obvious during a heavy rain and you’d witness the waterfalling effect from the roof, through the deck, and down onto that slab area. What is that slab’s purpose?

Pulling back that carpet and popping off a piece of trim may revel some more clues beneath the shimmed sheetrock and towards the sill plate? If not, it will give you a chance to get things drying more quickly with a couple fans.

I notice from your outside picture that grade of rock is sloping towards the inside corner of your home. Is there a rain gutter spout nearby? Does the above roof have gutters. It would appear to me that if you would receive a lot of rain it appears to me that the water would run into this area and into the house if the basement was below this area. Is this house a 2 story with a basement or 1 story with a walk out? A little more info might help.

Why is that pad out there?
It’s an inside corner so there is a valley up above. If there’s no gutter you are getting a lot of water bouncing off that pad and splashing back up under your bottom course of siding. The water is getting in between the block and plate.
There should be 6″ of clearance between grade and framing.

Foundation is leaking. Everything looks sloped to the house.

I used SafeBasements for a leaking foundation. Recommend them 100%

Water does weird things and goes weirder places when traveling the path of least resistance.

x2 looks like there’s some signs under the window too.

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t that the basement we r looking at? If the foundation is leaking that means the ground is so saturated it’s coming up and out?

Exterior wall will have plastic to protect sheetrock, water can travel on the inside down and out to what you are seeing.

I agree with Bucky. Pop off the trim, cut out the rock below the trim line and see where the water is coming. If your insulation is wet a good thermal camera might be able to pick it up still up the wall. Wet insulation is not good insulation

Since we are all throwing out guesses I’m gonna go with first deck board is sloped towards house having water leak down into whatever that exhaust housing is and leaking down.
