We have an LG top load Hi capacity. We are less than happy. No complaints as far a reliability or vibration. Wash cycle is much longer than our old mechanical top loaders and the clothes do not come as clean. I have to spot treat my clothes before washing and we use hot water all the time. I also had t o run longer wash cycles. But even the standard wash cycles are long.

I used to be in the chemical business. A number of things effect cleaning. Chemical, amount of water, water temp, time, and mechanical action. These new machines lack the mechanical action and the amount of water. So it has to be made up with chemical, water temp, and time.

If I knew what I know know I would have saved my money and bought the old style machine.

Ended up with Speed Queen. Even went with analog dials so it feels like we time warped back 25 years. However they are solid and working very well. The top load with agitator is a welcome change. Both the washer and dryer are brutally fast. Hopefully I wont have to bring up the topic again.

About 1 year ago I replaced a 10+ year old front load whirlpool. We liked how clean the whirlpool got clothes, and how dry they came out of the wash machine. Replaced it with a front load LG. Been very happy with it as well. The smell some mention is caused by using to much detergent. Just cut the detergent back to the recommended levels and your clothes will still be clean, and the washer will stop smelling. The shaking is either due to a load that is to large, or the counterweights are stuck or broken.
