Kent, what kind of speeds are people seeing in this boat with the 140 Suzuki and 135 E-Tec on the back (tourney load)?

You will see right at that 42-43 range with the 140 Suzuki package. Southside Marine has a trade with nine hours on it for a pretty good price also.

I like to keep my options open. Looking to switch to tiller (maybe) and while I am a Skeeter fan, they do not have an 18′ tiller and they only offer a 115 HP for the WX2000T. Plus they discontinued the WX1790T for 2013 (or was it 2014).

2009 WX2000T’s are rated for 150’s if your looking for a few years old. Mines a 2009 but unfortunatly has the 115 on it.

Yep, I remember the 2009 WX2000T can have the 150 on the back. Much better than the 150. Still seems odd to me when Warrior and Lund are putting 275s on the back of their 20′ rigs.

wade, I recently purchased a 2011 wx2000t and w the 115 yamaha full of fuel i can get 40 to 41.3 out of it, My question is what is the need for a 150 to 250 on the back of a tiller boat unless you are doing some serious tournament fishing. I mean I get the fact that going 50+ mph is way cool. I have not been in a warrior With the 200+ motor on but i bet its a heck of a ride.

I hear ya 110%. The fiscally responsible part of me says I do not need a 50+ MPH boat (up front cost, cost of extra fuel, etc). The child in me LOVES rocketing out of the hole and passing most of my competitors at the take off and being #1 or #2 to a spot. They fight ALL THE TIME.

Is that 40-41 with a tourney load? I have been hearing 38ish with a tourney load in the WX2000T with 115hp.

Disclaimer. I do not do serious tourney fishing. A lot of local stuff and some smaller “regional” tourneys. The NTC when/if I can.

What prop and what mounting hole are you at for the motor? I can not get that speed out of mine…

Also a 150 would be nice to just run less RPMS and the same speed. I dont care for turning 6100 RMPS to do 38-39 versus 4600 RMPS on a 150 for the same speed.

That is with a 17 pitch prop, And no that was w just a few spinning rods and very little gear with. It was only the 2nd time I had the boat on the water so i havnt run it in waves or any conditions to effect control speed etc ,I realize there is alot of variables with speed. I read alot of forums b4 lookin into the wx2000t and there were guys getting 41.5 to 42 mph, again not sure of the prop etc they were runnin. I agree it would be nice to run less rpms at 38mph though. To each there own If I had deeper pockets who knows maybe i would have justified it in my mind to go 50mph

How slow will that package go without assistance going forward and back?

Here is the real question for a tiller.

Not worried about such things. That is what kickers and trolling motors are for. The main motor is for hole shot and WOT speed.

Try sending IDO member Karbon a PM. He runs an 1890 with a 140 Suzuki.

Not to hijack the post, but I hit 41.5 mph once with my 2000t/115. In a tournament it is generally between 37.5 and 39.5.

I have no idea why but I REALLY wish the WX200T was consistently over 40 MPH tourney load.
