I was out all day on Waconia today and my hands keep freezing, I wear Ice Armor gloves and then switched to old fashion Choppers and my hands still froze. I’m thinking I may need to go with Beaver or something along that line.
Any suggestions? Forgive me if this has been beaten to death, I did a search and didn’t find anything on this topic.

One thing I always do before I go on the lake is coat my hands in Vaseline. This coats my skin and seals in moisture. When I stick my hand in the water or snow while fishing the water sheds and my hands don’t get cold as fast.
Another thing I do on colder days is keep disposable hand warmers in my mitts so that I can warm my hands up as needed.
Also, if your core is not warm your body will draw blood from your limbs to warm it up. I always wear insulated bibs and plenty of layers to stay warm. My hands don’t get cold as quickly this way.

If you can find some of the original Snowsuit mittens (pre-frabill), you hit the jackpot. I found two pairs at a bait store last year and bought both.

By far the warmest mittens I’ve ever worn.
