Warm But Not Bulky Bibs?

Looking for some warm bibs that aren’t bulky for ice fishing.

Currently I have Striker Trekker bibs, they’re bulky as hell and honestly not all that warm.

I’d like something more comfortable like my Arctic Shield hunting bibs. They’re as warm or warmer, sleeker fitting, more flexible, more windproof etc. my Striker bibs feel like wearing cardboard in comparison. I see they make some “ice” stuff, but wondering what else is out there that could be similar??

The new striker apex is bad ass. Way less bult then my climate suit and very warm. Other then that brands like klim and snowmobile gear is way warm and not bulky. But they aren’t float suits.

Striker Apex is by far the best float suit I’ve seen that offers the best of both worlds – very flexible/not bulky/lightweight and very warm.

Does it absolutely need to be a float suit? The floaty stuff is what makes them bulky and stiff

    Doesn’t have to be.

The apex suit is awesome, if not your style look in to the klim or fxr snowmobile gear. Much slimmer then float suits and plenty warm

If floatation is not a must, tough to beat the Simms insulated Challenger suit

I really enjoy my apex. Fits great, pockets are well designed. I like the magnetic covers. It’s not bulky and gives you a good range of motion.

Why not just wear your Artic Schields?

I have a handful of times, but I’d like them to last for bow hunting. They’re already all of 10 years old and still in great shape.

Ice fishing is hard on gear, not to mention smelly (snowmobile exhaust, fish slime, etc)

Like others have said striker APEX if you want float suit. Crazy how much lighter and thinner it is than the climate stuff I used to have.

This is same reason I’m selling my StrikerICE Hardwater suit (2XL), plus, I’ve lost weight and undergrown it. I wasn’t in the market for another float suit, but I tried on the ICEARMOR (Clam) Folds of Honor bibs, and I really liked the soft material and much less bulk. I was then at Scheels and couldn’t pass up the jacket/parka. I haven’t compared the weights, but I would guess the StrikerICE suit weighs twice as much.
