All is usually quiet on the Bemidji front…probably because the fishing is so consistently good! With so many awesome lakes to choose from around here it’s hard to pick one. So, why not fish as many as you can? Part of the enjoyment, for me anyway, is hitting new water and learning new things. The fishing has been very good this last week. I have been fishing the “late shift” hoping to get a glimpse of that monster walleye that we all know is out there! Haven’t seen her yet, but there is healthy population of walleyes between 18 and 25 inches out there. Casting stick baits to classic shallow points and flats has produced as well as long lining the same baits over weedy flats. These walleyes are not afraid to get shallow after dark! Nothing fancy with Husky Jerks being tough to beat most of the time.
Walleyes!
