Freeze Your Butt – Saugerama – Turkey Combo.

Attention all participants for these three events.

This post is intended to announce changes affecting all three tourneys run out of Evert’s Resort.

First, both Dean and myself thank everyone who has fished these events in the past. We hope you had fun, met some new friends and learned something new along the way. We really do appreciate the support!

In the past there have been 3 different entry fee and payout formats for these three tourneys. Moving forward, we will change to a single entry fee and payout formula for all three tourneys. The main driver for this change is to comply with the Wisconsin Tournament Permit process. Wisconsin has added a $50 processing fee for each tournament. Previously, these permits were free and only needed for events with 25 or more participants. We needed to lock up these permits and dates early in the year in order to plan accordingly. We have applied for and received the permits needed for all three events in 2010. We purchased these permits even if we might not need them. (Sometimes these events only attract 5-6 teams – all depends on the weather.)

The entry fee for each tourney will be $50 total per 2-person team. The Big Fish pot and The Evert’s ramp fee will be included with the entry. These events were never designed to be money makers. Typically they are break even affairs. We expect that to continue. The fee increases are necessary to generate enough revenue to cover the costs of running the tourneys. These tourneys will still be a great deal for the weekend tournament angler and will remain a fun way to compete on an affordable entry budget.

We will continue to hold the first 5 starting positions for the top 5 finishers of the previous year’s event.
We will continue to offer on-line registration to secure a spot for team 6 and on.
We will continue to collect the entry fee on the day of the event only.

Any questions or comments can be sent to me or Dean. Feel free to call or PM anytime.

We did one spot for FYB and 5 spots for Saugerama and zero for Turkey Combo. We chose to go with 5 for all.
