FLW Question??

In the rules it says all USCG required equipment. Does this include a marine band radio??

I believe FLW rules require a marine band radio. They send boats off via marine radio and they also require a radio check during the boat check. At least they did in the past. Some guys had hand held marine radios and they were fine.

Yes you must have a Marine radio. A hand held is fine. They will not let you go with out on. You have a radio check each morning of the tourney.

You can check with Sonny about maybe borrowing a handheld radio. If my memory serves me right I believe they used to do this. Give him a call and ask, otherwise you will need to buy one or borrow from a friend. It is true you will not be allowed to participate with out one. Right away in the mo rning they do a boat check which includes a radio check.
