With Spring quickly approaching, I thought this would be a good time to reintroduce IDO members to Angler’s Advantage, a boat insurance product that will keep you properly covered when you’re on the water, and that may even put some additional money back in your pocket.

Have you taken the time to review your current boat insurance policy lately? Are you familiar with what coverages you have, and how they protect you and your boat? Most anglers are unaware what their boat insurance policy actually covers until it is too late and a claim occurs.

Here are some common misconceptions about what is covered under your current boat insurance policy:

Standard Insurance Carriers May not Cover:

    • The Agreed Replacement Value of your boat, but instead the Actual Cash Value.

    • Your boat while you are fishing tournaments or guiding.

    • Your fishing equipment/electronics in the event of a loss.

    • Emergency Services and Towing Coverage

Anglers Advantage Gold insurance does just that…and ordinary boat insurance does not! In addition to providing basic benefits designed for fishermen, this insurance policy offers you the opportunity customize your boat insurance policy to fit your needs. Whether you’re looking for specific coverages, higher liability limits, or lower deductibles, Angler’s Advantage can build a policy just for you.

Numerous IDO members have already taken advantage of this insurance opportunity and I have received some excellent great feedback from my clients in regards to the insurance products Angler’s Advantage offers.

Benefits of an Angler’s Advantage Insurance Policy:

•Reliable claims service with a very fast turnaround time.

    • “Agreed Value” protection for your boat, versus “Actual Cash Value”

•”Disappearing Deductible Endorsement” or 10% “Claim Free” discount upon renewal

    • A 5% discount for IDO members, and additional discounts for NPAA members, charter captains, etc.

    • An IDO member as an agent who is only a PM away.

Anglers Advantage has some unique coverage options available to anglers such as:

•”Total Replacement Cost Coverage” Endorsement for boats which are less than five years old.

    • “Tournament Fee Reimbursement Coverage” Endorsement

    • Pro Angler/ Guide Coverage Endorsement

    • Increased Fishing Rod, Tackle, Gear and Personal Effects Coverage

•Contaminant Spill / Pollution Liability Coverage Endorsement

If you haven’t taken the time to review you current boat insurance policy, I strongly urge you to do so. Angler’s Advantage offers a great line of insurance products that has the additional coverages most anglers are looking for.

To kick the open water season off with a bang, I am offering all IDO members who receive a complimentary insurance quote from Angler’s Advantage from now until May 1st an entry into a drawing for a $50 Gift Certificate to Evert’s Resort or Thorne Brothers. All you have to do is send me a PM or email and let me know you are interested. I will then provide you with the questions that need to be answered in order to work you up an insurance quote. The entire process should take you about 5 minutes, and it may put some additional money in your pocket as well as improve your current insurance coverage. Contact me today for your complimentary insurance review, you’ll be glad you did!

BrianK is already a client of mine when he is on the water.

It’s the whole off the water part that i’m still concerned about insuring.

Ahhh, Feb, 9th 1972. The ice wasn’t very good on the old Crow River that year.

I’m glad the water was only thigh deep. I’m not sure if my insurance would have covered that.

Never did make it to the Three Gabled Pub in Cedar Mills.

Now that would have looked good on the back of a jacket.

No, I went down a bank on the outside of an outside bend. The front tire broke through and the more I struggled to get it out the more it broke through. Never submurged the carberator though.

    Unlike Dean’s tractor.

Hairjig, did you get a free quote from Justin?

It doesn’t take very long at all, painless unless you’re an catfish guy and a good chance at winning a $50 Gift Cert.

I used 4 different names when I called in for a quote on my guiding insurance. I was going to call in again, but the last time he mentioned the Lund Angler SS with a 90 hp merc was sure a popular boat yesterday.

If you you would like to compare coverages apples to apples, a copy of your current insurance declarations page that would be great. If not, all I really need to know in order to provide you an accurate quote is how much coverage you would like for your boat, motor, trailer, electronics, and additional fishing equipment.

I’ll be bringing my laptop along for anyone that would like a quote on site.

In regards to the claims handling process, I think Angler’s Advantage does an excellent job. I can think of one IDO member who had an unfortunate claim last year on Pool 4. Angler’s Advantage had his lower unit repaired and had him back on the water fishing in 4 days.

That unfortunate angler was me. I won’t bore you with the step by step process but believe me it was swift and hassle free. Just a few days and I was back in business.

Nice to meet you the other day Justin. Thanks for coming down.

    Happier?

I haven’t had a claim, but knowing Justin is a click or two away gives me extra comfort.

If I recall, I’m down to 50 bucks on my deductible.

A chance to win a St Croix and possible saving some cash is pretty attractive….Justin, did you get the email I sent asking for a quote? Never have enough St Croixs!

Justin, if I cancel & then get a new quote do I qualify for the Evert’s gift cert.? Really happy with the choices they offer for tournament insurance & guiding that most people don’t even know they need.
You can apply my $50 towards Full Throttle entry fees.

Justin, the Favorite Daughter is looking for you on a car quote. Just put my name on the drawing ticket. I’ll make sure she gets the gift cert if she wins. (wink wink, nod nod, say no more)
