My partner and I had a great time fishing the event and walking away with some prize money never hurts. I never would have guessed it would take a 3.25lb average to win the tournament, but I am very happy with our 18.74lbs and 5th place finish. Got to meet some new people and make a few new friends. That was worth going all by itself. Awesome group of people that ran the event. I will definitly being doing it again next year. Maybe next year we can manage a first palce finish. Dean, my father and I will be down saturday and I will try and wrestle some cookies away from my kids.

We came in with just under 20 pounds thinking we were in pretty good shape. I figured someone might beat us but wasn’t expecting by almost 7 pounds. Unreal, that was a bigger bag of Saugers than most of us could even imagine. Congrats on the bag of a lifetime guys.

We ended up in 3rd, and were very happy with it. Everybody around us was catching fish, the bite was nothing short of awesome. Thanks for all you guys do, and we were glad to be a part of it. See you all next year.

Thanks for running it Jon, you did a great job, as always.
Are you going to post the full results?
We caught a ton of fish, just all the same size and everytime it was a big fish—it was a walleye.

I had to be back there.

I think I was the last boat to the can line with my lowly 75 hp motor.

First I gotta say thanks for putting this on, it was my third and each time has been fun and a learning experience.

Might warn all you though, we have just about figured out every spot that fish ain’t…so expect a bit of competition soon…

Seriously each year has been a learning experience and I’m enjoying fishing the river more and more.

Also thanks to the guys who offered to help me get my boat in the water as my partner was late, pretty nice bunch of guys at these gatherings.
Also I hope the German Short-hair found its home.

AND if any of you found on your anchor rope a black jig with a plastic swim bait on it up by the dam, all I can say is…sorry…my fault..:)

Once again thanks, had a great time and hope to make it next year…maybe catch two saugers then..:)

As long as I’m rambling, few years back I had a brain abscess and when all was said and done, I now suffer from a bit of memory loss, nothing major, but I had several people come up and say hi, please, I’m not ignoring or unfriendly
I just may not remember who you are, a bit of info sometimes will help me remember, thanks.

Went fishing on pool 7 yesterday and only caught 5 saugers from 12-14 inches. Wow what a difference from last weekend in Red Wing averaging 19.5″ saugers for a limit. I need to get back up to Red Wing again.

We were on 7 yesterday too. The weeds were unbelievable. We had about a dozen fish, but most were pretty small. I was thinking the same thing, there may need to be a run up there this weekend.

When were you out there I didn’t see ya? I called Tom to go but he was busy making tree stands for the gun season. I hope those weeds get cleared out soon, so I can get my troll on again.
