I know, I know….2009’s season just ended, but it’s never too early to think about next season.

Did anyone besides me notice that Sonny didn’t have anything to say at the rules mtg about the 2010 season? I seem to recall that in years past, there was some chatter about the following season’s schedule.

It’s never too early to think about next season!!

I did not hear anything about the 2010 schedule either.

There was also no mention about the Cabelas partnership, which is weird considering the signage/mention of this partnership at the Bemidji stop.

I hope all is well over at FLW and they are able to offer the league to anglers next year.

I know there is concern on weather or not there will even be a heartland division next year due to not very many boaters. (By the way is the new little one here yet??) Ryan

Still the father of two Ryan, but I think that’ll change tomorrow. Thanks for asking!

I heard the same thing about Heartland division.

If a guy listened very carefully to Sonny at the rules meeting, there were two comments to pick up on:

    1. Sonny said something to the effect of the MN and WI divisions being the “core” divisions in the league, with long-term high turnouts in individual events.

    2. Sonny mentioned how cost-effective it was to have two events being held on subsequent days, as it happened once in the MI division this year due to the first event being canceled due to weather.

I talked to Sonny after the rules meeting and asked directly if the leauge will be back next year and he said “yes, but in what format we don’t know yet”. He did go a little deeper and say that it might be a team or differnt divions but he did say that it will back but how will be the question. It is all about money as we all know maybe we will have more 2 day individual tournaments on the same body of water like Mich. div. did this year. He also stated that there wasn’t the people starting in the league then going to the tour as they would like.

Only 3 more months of rumors and we should know for sure. I suspect there will be some downsizing for the low turnout events. Let’s hope they will keep it rollin as the FLW crew does a great job with the tournaments.

The FLW crew does an outstanding job at their tournaments for sure. And I for one was a little dissapointed this year in the numbers of the Heartland Div. I thought for sure they would be alot bigger compared to 2008. But that is what a scary economy does to things like this. I hope they keep the Heartland going since they seem to have more “river” tournaments on that divisions schedule. Congrats to all the folks that fished the championship and a bigger congrats to the final day top 10 and the winners!!!

I would love to see something involving a team concept!
