Well done Kirt, you’ll look great in that shiny new 621.
Congrats to you and Terry both! It was fun having you guys around…I hope you come back again now that the pressure’s off!
September 19, 2009 at 11:34 pm #805226Congrats Kirt! Great Job
I was following the weigh in on the live leader board on my Blackberry and there must have been a mistake because it had you in 2nd for the longest time and then I checked again awhile later and it said you won.
Great job!
Now the big dilemma is do you sell the new Ranger or sell the Tuffy? I don’t think you can go wrong either way.

Thanks, Jason
Both Kirt and I thought we would both be fishing on Sat but I got knocked out by 3 oz 2nd to last guy . The backyard gem sure was a fun puzzle to figure out. I am now getting ready for Bismarck and leave on Wed to pre-fish with Nick Schertz.
after I get back we need to get together and log a few hours on the gem and pool 4. Holly cow talk about some stong whisker fish and giant smallies .Terry Filkins

Was following the Live Leaderboard and saw you were last to weigh and then they put you in 2nd place.
Now I pop in here to read the almost did it story and you did do it.
Once again… Congrats!!
September 20, 2009 at 1:54 pm #805263Congrats Kirt, you’ve come along ways since leaving those bananas on dry land. Great job!
September 20, 2009 at 1:57 pm #805264Great job Kurt. To qualify with only two events and turn around and school the field with that 7 pounder in a tank of small fish is awesome. Congradulations. Are you going to the tour finals? Good luck if you do.

I have a “No Bananas” sticker on the dash of my boat and I tell my co’s that story everytime out
September 20, 2009 at 4:38 pm #805282Now that I got the truck and boat unloaded I would like to take a moment to thank a couple of people, Terry Filkins an IDO guy, we met last year at the NPAA last winter, he asked me if I wanted to fish the leugue together, he is Tour co guy, I said sure what the heck share expenses and help each other out with no strings attached, he is great guy. We both made the championship, and he missed the top 10 cut by ounces , bumped by the second to the last guy to weigh friday.
A little story previuos to the above, prior to the Red Wing I nearly cut a finger off my left hand, unable to fish with a cast I backed out. And with that I decided to pull out of the series, missing a event is big hole to dig out of to make the chamionship, well Terry had a cabin rented at Leach Lake for him and 3 other tour guys, John Schnieder, Bill Hyska and Nick Schertz, so Terry talked me to come up and prefish, well while there I figured what the heck I enetered and got 17th and then a 24th at Bemdji finishing 26th overall making the BIG SHOW.
This year I met a couple of great guys along the way, John Scheider, Bill Hyska and Nick Schertz. And learned some stuff along the way
So again thanks Terry, John, Bill and Nick
September 20, 2009 at 4:42 pm #805283Great Job Kirt!! Still waiting to see if we will see you in the new Ranger next year or if you’ll stick with the Tuffy?
