Have any of you ever had any issues with keeping prying eyes and fingers off you stuff while staying at hotels where you cant see your boat, I got a nice snap cover so out of sight but there always out there

My first time I had a rod stolden but that was my fault because I left it out. From that time on I always cover my boat, take the electronics out, stow all rods and tackle. I lock the compartments also. I have not had a problem since. I try to park where I can see it from my room. If you really what to know you can put a baby monitor inside the boat and put the reciever in your room and hear what is going on, this only works if you are a light sleeper.

I’ve heard WAY too many stories about props being stolen. Even when the boats are parked under lights.

I’ve been thinking about the same thing lately now that I have “my” boat and all my gear. In the past, we have parked at hotels and left the boats in the harbor at some campgrounds with no problems (knock on wood). I guess taking the expensive things out, locking the compartments, covering the boat, and some good insurance is about all you can do. I like the baby monitor idea as I sleep pretty light, if et all, expecially before tournament day.

I always say if you dont want it missing lock it up or take it off.It doesnt happen often but it does happen.I see a lot of people leave their electronics etc. on the boat overnight but I dont.It only takes a few minutes to take off the electronics and lock up the rest.If you want to leave it out for bait for the thieves that is up to you.
