The Cedar Valleys Walleye Clubs first tournament for 2009 was held March 28 and was met with a cold start to the tournament season! Morning air temps in the low 20’s and a strong NW wind was a welcome blast on everyone face before the tournament. Thirty members were there to try there luck on pool nine of the Mississippi River at Lansing Iowa. The river temperatures were falling from low 40’s in pre fishing to high 30’s the day of the tournament and the river was on the rise in a big way. The current was almost 3 mph when just drifting on my GPS! The river was just full of old grass and debris and made fishing a challenge!

1. Matt Vlasak/Russ Vlasak 13.92 lbs 5 fish. 500 points.
2. George Scheafers/Dave Asche 7.98 lbs. 3 fish. 490 points.
3. Terry Blank/Jim Bast 5.34 lbs 1 fish. 480 points.
4. Bob Stewert/Al Clausman 4.64 lbs. 2 fish. 470 points.
5. Doug Bonwell/Greg Mahlstedt 3.76 lbs. 2 fish. 460 points.
6. Kyle Colbert/ Adam Bentz 3.60 lbs. 2 fish. 450 points.
7. Walter Ertz/Walt Lattiamer 1.86 lbs. 1 fish. 440 points.
8. Larry Schilling/Jerry Schilling 1.38 lbs. 1 fish. 430 points.
9. Kurt Roose/Chris Jacobs 1.36 lbs. 1 fish. 420 points.
10. Russ Cobb, Harry Borwig, Todd Borwig, Dave Merron, Jim Alllen, Greg Dietz, Carl Teske, Vern Fisher, Lynn Bibler, Scott Grapp, Tony Jochumson, Jim Dingler all with fifty show points.
