This is a fun annual event and is low key. You do not need to be an experienced tourney angler to register….heck, you don’t have to have ever fished a tournament to fish it! Very low key. Just a fun way to start out the season and at a very affordable budget! Grab a friend and come on down and “Freeze Your Butt” on March 7th!

This tournament is a Skeeter Boats Cash Qualifyer!

    Pre-Registration Rules.

Due to the increasing number of participants, we will no longer send boats off with a shotgun start. I think we can all agree it adds a level of un-necessary risk for an accident.

Both Dean and Myself recognize the importance of boat number order on take off. So, starting this year, participants who want to lock in a position can do so. Here are the rules:

***Spot #1 is held open for 2008 winners – Team Glenn Marshall and Mike Quimby.***

    1. We will begin accepting entries starting on Tuesday, February 17th at 8am.

    2. Entries can be mailed or dropped off at Evert’s Resort.

    3. Entries received prior to Feb 17th will be counted on Wed, February 18th.

    4. Entries should include the names of both participants and name one person as the captain.

    5. The captain retains the spot if the team splits.

    6. Captains may have a substitute partner.

    7. Captains may relinquish their spot to their named partner only. You cannot re-sell your spot.

    8. Pre-registration ends on Friday February 27th at 4pm.

I wonder if mine came attached to nice big box of soft and chewy Chocolate Chip/Oatmeal cookies if that would have any influence on getting the #2 spot

No entry form. Just write your name and your pratner’s name along with a contact phone number on piece of paper and mail it in.

    Remember to name a captain.

When you check in on tourney day you can pay the entry fee.

    Thanks.

Again, 74 paid entries. I believe that is a record for the FYB, not 100% sure??

Glad the forecast for fog was off and we skirted rain just to the south. Nice day overall!

A special thanks to Dean and Everts Resort for hosting the event. Thanks to all the guys who helped out in the AM and at weigh in. I appreciate it. This tourney would not have ran so smooth without you!

Here are the top 11 teams that that cashed. There were a heck of a lot of teams where one big fish would move you from out of the money to 2nd or 3rd place!

    1. Jason Beaulieu/David Green 5 fish 21.10 $350

    2. Terry Fischbach/Rick Swanson 5 fish 16.24 $230

    3. Glenn Marshall/Mike Quimby 5 fish 12.08 $170

    4. Bryan Paulson/Steve Hildebrandt 5 fish 12.02 $118

    5. Brian Frion/Eric Lewis 4 fish 11.94 $83

    6. Matt Schultz/Mitch Mitties 5 fish 11.68 $71

    7.Garen Vickney/Kevin Weckop 5 fish 11.50 $60

    8.Justin Chonis/Nick Chonis 5 fish 11.04 $47

    9. Lee Nesbit/Mike Little 5 fish 10.66 $35

    10. Dave Meyer/Larry Hanson 5 fish 10.12 $20

    11. Frank Linn/Ryan Burgswald 5 fish 10.08 $20

Team Jason Beaulieu/David Green also take Big Fish pot with an 7.88 pounder. That was worth another $370!!! Congrats!

I apologize for any miss-spelled names. Some entries pretty hard to read.

Again, congrats to the winners and thanks to all who showed up to participate. See ya next year!

Thank you Jon for such a well run event. It was a fun time even if that kicker fish eluded us and we finished out of the money. Thanks go out to Jesse Krook for filling some pretty big shoes while the boy is off at Basic. He carried his share today but this old guy dropped the ball and we finished .5 pound out of the money. Thanks also to Dean for keeping everything running smoothly with the big crowds. This is the place where I should say something nice about BrianK so ……..

Congrats Jason and David, These are a couple of good fishermen we’re gonna hear about a lot. The old man taught Jason well. But we know he could catch a walleye at the Wallmart.

That is not the winning guess. We believe we have identfied the winner. With almost 300 entries, we are checking the list a 3rd time. Hang tight, we will announce the winner shortly.

    Thanks for playing!
