First let me wish everyone good luck in Winona at the FLW Finals. Hopefully I dont make too may upset locals with a few hints of advice, I have been getting alot of calls and emails pertaining to the no-wake zone especailly the south end, and the area known as North Channel, the no-wake area is from the railroad bridge on the main channel to about 150 yards south of the winona yatch club. it goes from the minnesota shore to the south side of latch island including all of the main channel. remember the river runs east and west in winona, yes the river is a little odd here in pool 6-5a, but if you are on the north side of the buoys white and red, then you are okay to be on plane, but please be aware there are several wing dams along the north side of the channel and the river is extremly low right now. Do Not, run between the white buoys and latch island, the ticket $137, and I would guess disqualification, especially by the opening of the railroad bridge on the north channel, please use caution and error on the slow side. you never know if you go slow in the right spot you may hit a local hot spot that everyone goes 50 plus over all day long.
Good Luck to Everyone
I will be checking this post all week for any other questions, other than where are the walleyes at????
