or
Jason P. he has been on a roll!Jbob, what is your pick?
September 27, 2007 at 10:04 pm #61163137lbs+ is leading (5 fish basket)….Sounds like a good time. Chappys’ in 16th on the co side. Fished with Preissner today. Go gettem Chappy!!!!
September 27, 2007 at 10:32 pm #611637Yepper……Fished with jim today. The Hastings connection did pretty well today except we had to take a 5 fish dead penalty which equalled 2.5 #! So we dropped from 24# back 21.5#. From 10th back to 16th. Looks like a possible blow day tomorrow, whish means everyone has to stay behind the breakwall! Nobody will be happy if that happens. We caught about 25 fish today!Hoping for 30# tomorrow. If it happens,I should make the cut!
September 27, 2007 at 10:53 pm #611641Watch out for Chris Gilman. His lowest finish this year was 13th. And he typically starts out about 35th and ends up in the top 10. He’s 32nd today. And Prezkurat is 35th I think. Wouldn’t shock me a bit if they both make the top 10.

September 28, 2007 at 12:23 pm #611735Chappy, why is there a dead fish penalty in a kill tourney? FLW afraid of guys using ice to shrink fish? Is there even a protected slot? Good luck dude. Adam
September 28, 2007 at 12:25 pm #611736I talked to Chad last night. He could not make it out to the spots we pre-fished. Tony Renner did and he still has a shot if they go out today. These spots we pre-fished are capable of 40 lb bags. We fished a local tournament last Thursday and took 2nd with 32.5 lb bag. We missed a 8-9 lb fish which would have sealed the win. If Tony can make it out their look for him to make a bid for the top ten if the fish cooperate.
ted-merdanPosts: 1036September 28, 2007 at 1:27 pm #611765Missed this post yesterday, I have two picks – Jeff Vereke as a dark horse as he’s been on the right fish for over a month and then John Gillman – the biggest threat in any open water trolling event with spinners.
Headed down there to work the show and watch the weight in a couple of hours…

lundprovPosts: 55September 28, 2007 at 1:46 pm #611774Good Job Rigging Guy on the second place. Must have been a fun tourney out there. How many other pro boats entered that tourney? I would suppose everyone wanted to get into the local event.
September 28, 2007 at 6:03 pm #611845Adam, even if it is a kill tourney, all fish must be alive and swim normal, or you will get a 1/2 lb dead fish penalty per fish. This goes for all flw events.
From looking at the pictures, its blowing pretty good out there today.
Good luck all,
Jami
September 28, 2007 at 9:36 pm #611884Pro-V,
Actually no other Pro’s jumped in . The other’s were Charter Captains. They fish their tournaments a little different. Like I said it was a small local Bait shop tournament. They had a big one on Saturday which they call Hawgfest. The winning weight for 105 boats was 32.5 lbs. We had a lot of fun. If anyone is going out to Erie too fish in the Vermillion area pm me and I can get you in touch with the local Bait shop owner and he will put you on fish. I might head back out their when there so called PIGS (12-15 lbs) come into the shallows at the end of the month. Its a blast.September 30, 2007 at 10:41 am #612066Anyone else notice that the Ranger guys were all running the same boat with different power (yamaha/evinrude) on day 3? All were Red with silver/black stripes and had a registration of AR ending with AEE?
Anyone know why they weren’t running their own boats?

Once you make the cut your out of your boat. It is a sponsorship thing and then these boats become the first 2008 on the market. The motor on the back is predicated based upon what you run provided it is not a merc…Evinrude or Yamadog only. Hope that helps, it has been that way for a number of years.

September 30, 2007 at 9:38 pm #612173Jami…..I think it’s a t.v. thing. They did have 1 G3 running. The rule is if you run a Alum. boat on the tour, you fish from Alum. on 3 and 4. Jason Kerr runs a polor craft so he had to go with the G3.I think everyone else ran Rangers.
September 30, 2007 at 10:55 pm #612180Thanks Mike!
Now the next question would be…
How do they rig these boats? I’m guessing you take your graphs with you?
Do they pre rig with both lowrance and hummingbird?
October 1, 2007 at 12:04 am #612191Once again it is a sponsor ship thing and Lowrance supports the FLW. All boats should have been pre-rigged with “in-dash” technology including GPS. The pro’s had to map everything over to their boat. This is really simple. However, when your used to looking at 10″ and now get something smaller it hurts a bit but the reality is that “size doesn’t always matter?”. Tight lines, MJ
October 1, 2007 at 2:12 pm #612331I also wanna congratulate all the guy’s from the board who made it to the finals. Scott Stiel,Adam Adler (2nd 2place as a co)Jason Kerr,Jim Priestner,And a couple others. Great job done by all.
October 1, 2007 at 6:05 pm #612425Just making it to the championship deserves a big CONGRATS. Well done guys.
Thanks, Bill
