10,000 lakes in MN and we have to go to 2 lakes within 20 miles of each other

I here ya Jason. I am excited about this “heartland” division since I am an “Iowa” guy. By the way, it is Rathbun and a good time to be down there for eyes’.

Thanks for the heads up Jason.

Looks like were heading back to Bemidji. I can’t wait to get back up there. That was an awesome lake to fish

But no Mille Lacs, I’m bummed out I guess the slot has them worried…

Looks like fun! Another trip to Bemidji. I will definitely be fishing all three events this year. The WI league looks like it might be fun too. I might have to visit Appleton and Green Bay a little more often for work next summer.

I for one don’t like the WI schedule. 3 events within an hour of each other. 3 events on 2 bodies of water. This schedule makes it tough for anyone from the West side of the state to participate.

I think I might have to come fish against all of you MN boaters next year.

One thing you have to remember about the league is they are going to fish lakes that draw anglers. Green Bay pulls in a lot of anglers, that is why they fish it twice. Not to mention it is an excellent fishery!

Same goes for MN. The whole idea behing the league is to get people into tournament fishing. Looks like a nice schedule!

I understand what they’re trying to do. The problem for WI is that there aren’t any circuits on the west side of the state. Winnebago and Green Bay allready have a circuit entirely dedicated to those bodies of water (MWS).

Petenwell had 87 boaters last year. Green Bay and Winnebago had 93. There is not that much of a difference in the size of the fields. I just wish they had 1 event on a different body of water. 2/3 of the events within an hour of each other are enough. The folks from the Oshkosh/Fondy area only had an hour and a half drive to Petenwell (that’s pretty close in comparison to the 4 hour drive those of us on the west side of the state have to make for Green Bay).

I’m more than willing to make the trip 2/3 of the time, but one event in a central location would be a big plus in my book.

The MN division is no bargain for Western WI guys either….but that doesn’t mean I won’t fish it again next year.

Like all of us who fished Bemidji last year, I am pumped to see it back on the schedule. I just wish that middle event was not 20 miles away from Bemidji, which is every bit of a 6 hour drive for me. I understand the aversion to Mille Lacs because of the slot issue, but the state has other walleye factories…..Winnie, Osakis, Whitefish Chain, etc.

Oh well…it’s only gas at $3.50 a gallon.

Thanks for the info Jason. Just as others have voiced I’m not to thrilled about having two events in the same area.

Maybe at the tour championship in a couple of weeks?

I know there’s a preliminary schedule floating around out there.
