The Illinois Walleye Trail converged on the banks of the Illinois River in Henry, Illinois for its 2nd Tournament of the 2007 season. The teams found weather conditions excellent with 60 degrees temp, water temps in the upper 40’s and water clarity 10″ to a foot. Fourteen six fish limits was brought to the scales by the 40 Teams participating. The field caught and released 167 fish scaling 294 pounds.
The team of Guy Lopez from Chicago, Illinois and Paul Dimock from Homewood, Illinois finished the day in 1st place with 13.82 pounds earning them $1,435.00 and $100.00 Gift from Hennepin Marine as the first Lund Boat in the Money. Paul and Guy found there fish upstream from Henry pulling 3 ways with minnows and cranks. Placing 2nd was the team of Joe Beard from Cherry, Illinois and Thom Matejewski from Spring Valley with 5 fish weighing 13.56 earning them $750.00. Joe and Thom also had big fish honors with a 6.76 pound Walleye paying an additional $400.00.
Rounding out the top three was John Smith from Monmouth, Illinois and Mark Komo, from Downers Grove, Illinois with 12.97 pounds, cashing 485.00.
