Doug put together 3 strong days under tough weather conditions to finish 6th in the league championship. Congrats. Doug, on a job well done.
Jason Sullivan also cashed a check on the co-angler side with a 17th place finish. Jason fished with with me on the second day. I did not have the big fish going so our plan was to get 5 weighers and get him to the final day. We had 2 in the box and about 12:00 decide to hit another spot. About 15 minutes into the pass we started taking on water. Needless to say we had to head for the harbor. We were back in at about 1:00. Jason just missed making the final day by ounces. Losing that 1.5 hour of fishing really hurt. I had been getting smaller fish on that spot and was pretty certain we could put at least a 15 incher in the box. We had no choice though as safety comes first.

Don, everyone that braved that water on Thursday, Friday and again on Saturday needs to hold their heads up. Fighting seven to nine foot waves all day is pure hell. I think the IDA gang represented the group extremely well. Congrats to Doug on his finish!!!

    Thanks guys.

I had a great time and could not have asked for a better draw on Friday. I got to spend 8 hours with one of the nicest guys I know.

I do admit I was quite nervous about the boat mishap, but I have logged it as a great fishing story.

I did not get a chance to talk to Doug on Saturday. I just wanted to congratulate him on a strong finish. My post was not meant to slight any of the other guys out there! (I was one of them)
