Can we assume they are going with a 4 fish basket because that is all the DNR would give them?

    That’s interesting.

Reason for the 4 fish limit is because it is a kill tournament, which is because the weigh-in is 1/2 mile from the lake.

Does anyone know the date interval that all tournaments in MN must be kill tournaments? I wonder if, we’ve reached that already.

There are many tournaments that get 5 fish limit permits that are kill tournaments.

It appears there is no law per se that mandates a kill tournament, but I thought I read somewhere the guidelines that the DNR uses to deny a live release tournament. Contest Law

It is illegal in MN to transport live fish in a livewell unless you have a permit to do so. It doesn’t sound like the PWT arranged for that.

Sounds like the bite was very good both for numbers of fish and fish over 20 inches. It would have been interesting to see what the weights would have been without the only two over 20 restriction. The lake is in very good shape right now
