Just a “heads-up” the 14th Annual Frontenac Sportsman’s Walleye and Sauger Classic will be held on August 12th of this year out of Lake City MN. Waters will be Pool 4 of the Mississippi and cost will be $70 per 2 person team with an optional $10 big fish pot. Again this year the tournament will be 100% payback and will be paying back the top 10 places. We will also be paying $150 to the largest fish that is not a walleye/sauger/saugeye, $150 to the least weight with a full 5 fish limit (15″ minimum), and of course, $150 for the famous “Goose Egg Award”.

Last year we had 90 boats and will not accept over 120 boats. This is a great tournament and everyone has a lot of fun afterwards with free refreshments.

I will be sending our entry’s within the next week to all past participants. If you have not participated in previous years, please feel free to contact me and I will send you and entry & information at the same time all other packets are sent out.

You can contact me at 651-345-5035 after 5:00 PM

    Thanks!!

We are currently at 29 boats as of today. We seem to be getting a couple entries every day. We are still projecting 75 – 90 boats. I will keep everyone posted.

Due to doing a little “pre-fishing” (like that will help me anyway!!), this will be the last post I make prior to the orientation meeting and I will not have access to the internet. Just want to give everyone some info:

    1) Looks like we will be around 70 + boats

    2) We will have openings if you want to sign up at the orientatin meeting. Please try to get to the American Legion by 6:30 PM if you need to sign up. Just look for my yellow dodge in front of the American Legion. I will be at the American Legion by 5 PM

Meeting begins at 7:00 PM, Friday, August 11th
    American Legion
    224 Washington St. S
    Lake City, MN
(Across the street Lake City Federal Savings & Loan)

    American Legion Phone # 651-345-2224

    3) My home # is 651-345-5035. You can call me w/ questions through Thursday night.

    4) Please remember that the American Legion Womans Auxillary gals will serving Sloppy Joes and Chips for a minimal cost. The bar will also be open.

Help support the American Legion Auxillary by chowing on their grub they are making so they can continue to send needed supplies to our troops in Iraq!!

    5) Years past we have allowed boats sign up during the boat check on Saturday morning. Boat checks will be in the Fiesta Foods grocery store (across from Conoco) beginning at 5:15 AM on Saturday. Please notify me prior via phone message at my home or call the American Legion during the meeting so we can make arrangements.

Again, feel free to call me if you have ANY questions.

    Respectfully,

    Jimmy Siewert
