Rain, rain, and more rain. Teams fishing the Big Eau Pleine encountered wet conditions with temperatures in the high 40’s. The fish were sluggish making for a tough bite. The team of Jim Kocher and Brian Villiard went back to basics to earn first place with five fish weighing 7.41 pounds. They anchored in the sand at Klosky’s Point and used slip bobber rigs for the victory. It was the only five fish limit. Steve Isenberg and Brian Burnett pitched jigs tipped with minnows in shallow water all day to capture second place with three fish weighing 4.21 pounds. Scott Ristow and Todd Rebek pitched jigs along the rip rap to hook one fish weighing 2.18 pounds for Third Place. It was also the big fish of the tournament. Two thirds of the field didn’t weigh a fish. Good job guys under tough conditions!
