Does anybody have info on the WWA Tournament scheduled for this weekend in Red Wing? How many boats? Rules meeting? Etc.
I Fished it last year. Lucky if 10 boats show. Mainly because getting info out of them is like pulling teeth.
Last year we left from one dock and went back to weigh in a found out that steve got kicked off that dock. The meeting was cancled last year. Found out when we got there and no Steve. I Herd From a preaty good sorce that MN would not give them any permints this year, thats why no info.
Good Luck if you go, just don’t expect it to go to smooth.
No updated info and I have not heard anything from them either this year.
Thanks, Bill
Lawrence, this is not like Steve. Hope nothing [health problems or something] is wrong.
Thanks, Bill
TonyK,
I’ve had the same experience as you in previous years.
Guess I,ll just go fishing instead!
I called Steve Poll at 920-651-1066 and left a message at 1:30pm this afternoon. Got a pretty quick reply about this weekends tourney. (Less than 2 hours) He left the following details on my voice mail.
The registration for Saturday’s tourney will start at 5:30 am Saturday at the Colville ramp. (He is usually in a pick up truck with WWA stickers on it) You can sign up for both Saturday and Sunday’s tourney at that time. Or you can sign up for Sundays tourney after the weigh in is complete on Saturday.
Brief rules meeting at about 6:30. Take off at 7am.
I have fished tourneys run by Steve going way back to the “Team Walleye” days and he has always been a straight shooter. If there was a problem with something for this weekends tourney, he would have said so.
There you have it! Any questions? Just call Steve at the above number and I’m sure he will get right back to you. Just leave a detailed message about what you need to know.

Jon, how many permits are typically issued for pool 4 in the spring?
I got two e-mails from Steve today. He said he sent me an e-mail in Feb yet for some reason I didn’t get it. I can’t open either attachment for some reason either. Like Jon says-Steve is a straight shooter. And a good honest caring fisherman and Tournament Circuit Director.
Thanks, Bill
If the tourny is out of coville, does that mean the ramps are open?
Last weekend it looked like the ramp was getting very close to being open. The ramp on the left after you come under the bridge into the park was open at that time.
Thanks, Bill

Hey Media
Is the tournament this weekend March 25 & 26? Or is it on April 25 & 26?
Just an FWI, Launching is out of Bill’s Bay, and not Covill. Thpark launch is frozen shut still.
