Anyone ever fish a crappie tournament. Talked to a guy this afternoon that said he fished a few around MN and Wis. last year.

From what his guy was saying it sounds like there is a crappie league. Sounded interisting.

crappie only? or all types… Crappie only would be pretty cool.

    Mike W,
I assume that you are talking about open water.
Most everyone in the Twin Cities has at least heard about the annual Lake Minnetonka Tourney that occurs (usually) on the last weekend of April.
I have prefered to hit the Tourney down on Cedar Lake near New Prague on the same weekend, for many years.
Chris Tuckner, drewsdad and fishlees have all fished this Tourney before as well.
It is organized by and benefits the local sportsman’s club.
For more info call or stop by Simon’s sportsbar in New Prague.
It has atracted a few locally well-knowns and does have good numbers of decent crappies entered.
    cheers

But none have been as large as the first place check that Fishless and I cashed that one year we had all of the family down there.
That was with an unscheduled break to tow a certain aunt and uncle to shore. A case of an unmaintained motor and a wife that had to pee
Does this mean I have one up on you in the tournament scene, I think not
It’s a good group and a good tourney
    cheers
