As we get closer to another year it will be time for old members to renew their membership and time for fishermen/fishergals to consider joining Walleye Searchers of Minnesota. And you don’t have to live in Minnesota to belong. In fact, the two top Anglers of the Year anglers for this year live in Wisconsin. We hold a monthly meeting at the Elks Club in Rochester on the first Monday of the month. You do not have to attend the meeting to get your name into the hat for the drawing of partners. We hold 8 club tournaments in which the 5 best count as your points for the Angler of the Year Awards. This year we had 41 different fishermen fish the tournaments. Its a very good way to learn more about fishing walleyes and about fishing on the river which includes pool 4 and Lake Pepin. Sometimes we will hold a tournament on different pools too as its up to the fishermen as to where the tournaments are. Dues are only 25.00 per year and the non boater gives the boater 20.00 to help cover gas and boat expense when fishing a tournament. Any ramp fees and bait are split between the team. Its alot of fun and a great way to make new friends, fishing buddies, and learn from each other while having fun on the water.
Thanks, Bill
