Yep….just got back from the weigh-in. Good job guys .

they’re really gonna have to get on their horse to catch the leaders though……22#s with a couple 7#ers, next closest weight was 13#’s

Most guys are finding it tough fishing, as was predicted

Just got back from Winona. Way to go Lenny. I did hear that lenny had some very good days prefishing. Much better than what has been showing for him so far. Hope he can get into them again today.

Stickboy had also been on some very nice fish pre fishing. Getting paired up with him on day one was great. We had 1 fish in the boat by noon or 1 pm. Then on one spot we pulled a few quick fish and it was time to go looking for a up grade. The up grade never did come.

Way in on the second day was a real nail biter for both of us. Stick did not have a good day and we had only one 20″ fish. Both of us got knocked down into 16th place with about 5 bags of fish left to weigh. So close but so far away.

This was my first year fishing the FLW league or any tournment series. Fished it as a co angler. It was a very good experiance and a good view at what it takes to be a competitive fisher person. For you guys on the boater side of these events I must give a hats off to you. The amount of time, effort and expence some of these guys put into these events is huge. To be able to go out on a tough bite or maybe a new body of water and put together the fish they do is inpressive also. Way to go guys.

For anyone thinking about getting into competive fishing these pro/am events might be a good way for you to see what it is all about. This is a inexspencive way to check out this sport and get in the boat with some very good sticks. Dont forget to help these boater out at the end of the day also. It is not cheap for them to compete in these vents.

Good luck to all of you guys fishing today. Hope to see the rest next year.

It is impressive how these guys do, but equally impressive is the compliments coming from the folks in Winona.

Forgetting the Walleye bite, which was slow, I went out Thursday late afternoon for Sunfish and pulled in about 7PM at Dick’s Marine. His son-in-law and daughter were there, and had nothing but compliments for the Walleye guys. No litter, no arguments and despite a packed parking lot tremendous efficiency and getting their boats in and out of the water; regarding compliments ditto in the restaurants and bars.

I am assuming the leaders fished Willow Cats, but if anyone know differently would appreciate hearing from you.

    Thanks

It was awsome to have you in the boat. I wish you would have been there fri. I really could have used you. Its really hard to go from catching 20lbs. plus a day to a zero. I need to correct you though we had our first fish in the boat a 7:30 while waiting to lock through. remember it was 19 5/8″ and I told you to throw it back and as it was hanging over the side of the boat I said well……. throw her in the box . once the fog and clouds lifted the bite wasnt to bad a little slower than it was but I would have taken a 15″ on fri. no such luck. Cant wait till next year. Did you see the schedule .
