From what I was told, live bait rigs were the top producers. Pulling, dragging and pitching all produced. Most of the teams stayed in the lower end of pool 4 fishing current breaks and wing dams.

The next question I’d expect to get asked is “What happened to James and Jim?” Well, they had their limit and were getting ready to make the run to weigh in. Hit the starter key and nothing. Everything dead, no power – darn electrical problem! Tourney fisherman’s worst fear. They limped back in on the kicker and were late for weigh in and I had to DQ them. James said he had about 11-12 pounds and were not in the money, so it was a wash.

Bill Cadwell will be post the photos as soon as he get back in town.

The big bummer of the tourney has to go out to Buckshot and Chappy. I heard they killed their lower unit coming back to weigh-in. My problem was solved with a new battery…. I bet Buckshot’s troubles are a little too serious to be solved by a trip to Walmart. I never did hear what happened or if the boat / hull is OK. Anyone get a chance to talk with them about it?

I talked to him this afternoon, It seems he wrecked the hub and prop??????? The dealer told him he needed a new hub and prop, not sure why he would need both I would think a new hub would do the trick, but they want 600.00 a new hub (if thats all thats needed) will cost 80.00 He was getting a second opinion but havent herd the verdict yet. The boat it self is ok he didnt hit anything it was just its time to go I guess.

He is taking donation’s if any one wants to send him a dollar I’m sure he wont refuse

Parking lot was full of some very nice fishing boats at the weigh in. If you ever want to check out some great rigs just come to an IDA Weigh in.

Great shelter for a weigh in. Notice the nice cool shade after a hot day on the water. The weigh in was at Pepin Wisconsin by the Pickle Factory.

This is Dustin’s little sweetheart hard at work helping out at the weigh ins writing down the weights on the score board for everyone to see. ”Thanks.” And yes, she is a sweetheart.

Third Place Team Paul Conway and Aaron Mathees. These two ”wingdam fishing gerus” should pretty much have the ”Team of the Year” award wrapped up the way they are going.

Congrats guys! And Congrats to all who fished. The river saw alot of changes during the week prior to the event along with Northerns moving in on some walleye spots which killed a good bite that was going strong during prefishing for some teams.
    Thanks, Bill

Sounds like a great event. Any chance of it being up north say Lake of The Woods.
