The bite was tough because of of the wind and snow we had for on Saturday and Sunday. The water started to clear slowly but for the most part looked like chocolate milk. My oil system vapor locked on the way out the first day and by the time I got it fixed I only had a half day to fish. Luckily I was still able to get a couple fish to salvage the day. Day 3 the bite was much better, I think we had 17 bites. We lost one nice fish and weighed 5 that were all 24 inchers. Not a typical lake Erie bite to say the least. If I could have fished a full day on day one I would guess I would have been close to 20 pounds on that day, as one of the fish I did weigh was 8 pounds. But, that is how it goes.

The problem had nothing to do with my new ETEC, that baby runs great. A hose on my remote oil fill was slid over the check valve that allows air into the oil system. If you have a new Ranger you may want to check yours out. A couple other guys had the problem after I did. Very easy fix once we figured out what the problem was.
