    9. Boat and horsepower regulation

All boats must be a minimum of 17 feet in length.

Well that cuts me out out as my boat is a Mr. Pike 16. Make sure you check the rules carefully guys.
    Thanks, Bill

Here’s another one you might want engrain in you brain –

The purchasing of information or the hiring of services will not be permitted after the entry/balance date for each event.

    Hi Kurt,
I hear what you are saying but with the entry deadline being Friday 5/6/05 it kinda leaves the door wide open for people using guides up until Friday. Each to their own…just because a guide might show someone where to go…they still gotta go out and duplicate it.

I am not fishing the first one since my sister is getting married but I will be there for the others. Are you fishing all of them???

Let me confirm that with Sonny Reynolds. I’ll post my findings. I was hoping it would be at least one week prior but who knows…… I will be fishing all four and am really looking forward to meeting some new tournament enthusiasts and tearing up some new water. Hope to meet you on the water or at the meetings. Kurt

I will be there for the other 3, I have never fished Bemidji and only once on Cass so I have my work cut out for me. I am looking forward to it…the Memorial weekend tourney should be interesting….going to be a zoo at Myr Mar.

Straight from tournament director Sonny Reynolds.
    Hello Sonny,

Please clarify the meaning of “entry/balance date” contained in rule #3.

Which one of the following 3 does that date equal, e.g. the Mississippi pool 4 tournament?
    A. Priority Deadline, 4/22
    B. Late Fee starts, 4/30
    C. Final Entry date, 5/6

    Hi Kurt,

The term “Entry/Balance Due Date” is used in all of our rules…. it is kind of generic but has the same meaning. In the League events the “Entry Deadline” is shown in the schedule …. remember we don’t take deposits in the leagues so there is no balance due deadline. In the FLT Tour events we take deposits and therefore we have a “Entry/Balance Due Deadline Date.” The “Priority Date” only relates to entering with a counter-part or having a counter-part enter after you have entered.

Therefore the correct answer is ……………………………………..

    (B) We will continue to take entries but there is a late fee after “Entry Deadline Date.” Plus, for the Tour events all balances must be paid and all entries after that date are paid in full plus the late fee.

    Hope this answers your question.

So what exactly does that mean???

Since there is no balance due date in the league you could do a guide trip even Friday 5/6/05 as long as you are off the water to the meeting and get registered and paid prior to the meeting start time???

I guess it doesn’t really matter like I said before…seeing it done and doing it yourself are 2 very different things. Guides know all the little things that make them successful like exact speed, exact depth exact location and other little tricks that a person won’t be able to duplicate themselves anyways.

The only way to know that stuff is figuring it out on your own.

I hope to see you guys out their.I have fished the RCL League the last two years. It is fun to meet others and learn different water’s.The rules are pretty good. The tournaments are run very well and go smooth.Dont worry about the guides giving up their big fish spots most of them fish the tournaments too.Their is some awful good fishermen that fish this League.Give it a try and you will have a lot of fun fishing in competition and meet alot of guys and gals and share alot of fishing stories.I am looking forward to this year.

I was at all the weigh ins the year before last and yes they run a very well run tournament which also includes a big stage and saw excellent care of the fish too.
    Thanks, Bill

I think it will be a fun year trying different lakes and meeting some more friends.Cass and Bemidji should be challenging.I have not fished the Mississippi for 15 years or better. It will be good to get back to the river.

I agree with Rigging Guy, that this year will be a lot of fun considering we will be fishing a couple of new lakes. Not many of the tournaments regularly hit Cass and Bemidji, so there will be the added challenge of new waters for most.
