I just wanted everyone to be aware that there are two single day event WWA (World Walleye Association) events scheduled for Saturday April 2nd and April 3rd on Pool 4 out of Red Wing. There is also a MTT (Minnesota Tournament Trail) tourney scheduled for each day as well, but their tournament field is already full. So, if you want to try fishing a tournament, give this one a try. I think you can even sign up as late as that morning at the launch. I will try to have more details later this week or early next week. These are team tourneys and the entry is $200 per team. This will be my first WWA, but I understand it’s pretty low key and a good learning experience.

Any idea what the payout is?

Just depends on the amount of boats. I think it pays back 80% and at $200 a team and a 100 boat field, it could be pretty good. If you go to the MTT website they have a payout schedule that would be similar to the WWA if they fill out.

All of the registration and tournament information is listed on the WWA Discussion Forum (located within the site Jon posted above). You’ll need to send in your money by Friday night for Saturday’s tourney (meeting in the morning), and registration and meeting is Saturday afternoon for Sunday’s tourney.

It says on the WWA website that the entry fee is $210 and each participant must be a WWA member ($25/person).

Good luck on the tourney. Don’t forget about the time change on Sunday. You don’t want to show up an hour late

The top three teams today [Saturday] were:

1st. Roger and Susan Hugill 11.57 lbs.
2nd. Gene and Britt Trowbridge 9.04 lbs.
3rd. Terry Fischbach and George Quest 5.38 lbs.

Congrats guys. Very tough bite today with dirty high water and fast current and floating wood.
    Thanks, Bill
