I didn’t see the sheets that Bruce was recording the weights on but I do know that Aaron Mathies and his partner won the tournament with 18+ pounds of fish. 2ND place team had 17+ pounds of fish and I believe the 3rd place team was Glenn Marshall and Mike Quimby. Its my understanding that Steve Vick has to tally up the total weights and etc to provide for the DNR and then he will forward the results to Waterfowler who will put a spreadsheet together with the results for all to see. There were 62 teams who took part in the ”kickoff” of the first of the walleye tournaments on pool 4 of the Mississippi River. Congrats to ALL who fished. It was great to see alot of old friends again who were missed during the off season.

    Thanks, Bill

I myself did not enter into tourney as my skill level on P4 isnt up to snuff. I was amazed at all the boats on the water today. My partner and i failed to catch even one fish all day but I believe the more I try the better luck I’ll have.

Great to be on the water and saw laots of members

Rumor has it Nate Cadwell gets to sell several of these new Alumacrafts from Smittys Marine in Lake City, Mn. at great below normal prices this year in case you are looking for a fully rigged new fishing boat.

Well, we didn’t far that well either. We have no river experience to be up the snuff with. Needless to say we did have a great time. Our boat managed to catch 2 fish. One sauger that was 13 1/2″ was caught by my buddy Eyeshaveit3, and a 6# sauger for myself. Not much else! Had a great time at our first tourney, and hope to be able to make it to many more! Thanks IDA and Everts Resort!

    Did I say six pounder… I meant 6 incher!

That boat was listing badly in Little River all of last year. It must have broke loose from where it was, and sunk near Colville. I saw it too. Someone tied it to a tree now. I would have thought that the authorities would have forced the owner to remove the boat last year!

Vick told me that the info was all double top secret and I wouldn’t be allowed access to it. I just think he is busy making up for lost time with the wife!!!

A few of the top finishers…..Boy if a guy could only hear what they talked about all day in the boat. They are a bunch of top notch anglers from the area.

Thanks to all who fished on Saturday. I believe it was the second highest turnout ever for the FYB tournament….62 boats. 2001 saw 65 boats and 70+ degrees. The bite wasn’t great by any means, but there were a bunch of nice fish caught all up and down the river. Thanks again to all who helped and to Bruce for putting on the tourney again.
